  • Allows proxy recording during a remote computer connection

The new Lossless Compressed Raw capture will offer small, medium or large (S, M or L) file sizes available in Sony’s menu. The ‘L’ file corresponds to the camera’s existing Lossless Raw option, which retains full image quality in a smaller file size, which the smaller alternatives reduce the pixel count in the files. The M size equates to 21MP and the S version to 12MP. Until we get a chance to install the firmware, we won’t know how the resolution reduced or how much impact there is on detail retention.

Other updates and bug-fixes include the ability record a proxy version while shooting video remotely, improvements to Eye-AF and fixing remote shooting using the Imaging Edge Desktop (Remote) software, along with general ‘stability’ improvements.

The price of the high-end full frame mirrorless camera is $6,499 and available at AmazonB&HAdorama.
