Sigma is rumored to announce the new 16-28mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary lens for Sony E mount on June 1st.

As you might remember that we’ve previously shared Sigma will announce a new 16-28mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary lens for Sony E mount. According to recent reports this maybe the only lens to be announced during summer.

In addition to the Sigma 50mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary lens,  Sigma 50mm f/1.2 DG DN Art lens and ,  Sigma will also announce a new 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN FE lens for Sony E mount.

The latest rumor suggests that the new Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN Lens for Sony E mount will be announced by the end of the year. The release of the lens could be early next year, this is because the semiconductor and supply issues haven’t been resolved yet.

Let’s talk about upcoming third party lenses for Sony E mount. Latest reports indicates that Sigma will announce the new 50mm f/1.2 DG DN Art and 50mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary Lens in Q2 (April-June) of 2022.

There’s no information on the price yet, but the F1.2 lens will be $500 cheaper than the Sony 50mm f/1.2 GM Lens.  Designed for  full-frame Sony E mount, you can use this premium lens on mirrorless cameras such as the Sony A7 IV, Sony A7R IV
